System requirements
CovaNode is a web application. You use it in your browser at covanode.app — there is nothing to download or install.
Web browser
- An up-to-date version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari, on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS/iPadOS or Android.
- JavaScript and cookies must be enabled (cookies are used for your sign-in session, security and language/theme preferences).
- We develop and test primarily in Google Chrome. If something does not work in another modern browser, please tell us.
Internet connection
- An internet connection is required while you use CovaNode; there is no offline mode.
- Real-time collaboration (live presence and co-editing) uses WebSocket connections. Very restrictive company firewalls or proxies may need to allow them.
Screen and devices
- The layout adapts to smaller screens; on phones the sidebar opens as a slide-out menu.
- For building databases, whiteboards and dashboards we recommend a laptop or desktop screen.
- There are no native desktop or mobile apps.
Languages and appearance
- English and Arabic (right-to-left), with light and dark mode.
Optional
- REST API keys and the MCP endpoint (Starter and Pro plans) work with any HTTP client or MCP-compatible AI tool.
- Sign-in with Google or GitHub is optional; you can also use email and password.
