User Guide Databases

Views

Show the same records as a table, board, calendar, Gantt chart and more.

A view is a saved way to look at a database. Every view has its own visible fields, filters and sorting, but they all show the same records — edit a record in one view and it changes everywhere.

Add a view

  1. Open a database.
  2. Next to the view tabs, choose Add view.
  3. Pick a View type, give the view a name and choose Create view.

Click an active view tab again to rename, duplicate or delete it.

Note

If a view type needs a field the database doesn't have yet, add that field first — for example a Workflow field before creating a Board.

Show or hide fields

Choose Fields in the toolbar and use the switches to choose which fields this view shows. Hiding a field doesn't delete its data.

Filter and sort

  • Filter — show only the records that match your conditions.
  • Sort — order records by one or more fields.
  • AI filter — describe what you want in plain words, such as overdue within 3 days, sort by due date, and CovaNode applies the filters and sorting for you.
  • Search — the search box above the records finds records by text.

The record count next to the views shows how many records match, for example 300 of 500 when a filter is active.

Select and act on records

In a table, select records with the checkboxes to act on several at once, such as deleting them or exporting them as PDFs. Selection follows the view: records hidden by a filter are not included.

Print view in the toolbar creates one PDF table of every record in the current view, using its filters, sorting and visible columns, with totals per column. It is available on paid plans.
